Hunger and Poverty Relief

Christian Appalachian Project alleviates hunger and poverty

People living below the poverty line in Eastern Kentucky often lack access to proper nutrition, consistent food supplies, sufficient clothing, and other basic household goods and necessities. The poverty rate in Christian Appalachian Project’s service region is 28% and the food insecurity rate is 19.7%.

Christian Appalachian Project is committed to ensuring that children and their families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities in the region do not go without food, clothing, and other essential items. Grateful Bread Food Pantry, Grateful Threadz Thrift Store, and Operation Sharing are making a positive and lasting difference in the lives of people in need in Appalachia by helping them meet their most basic needs.
