For Jeremy, CAP was able to host a baby shower on Sunday, March 22. With your kind donations we were able to get two large items; a high chair and an infant car seat, leaving only a double stroller yet to be bought. CAP was also able to provide many small items such as bottles, diapers, lotions, pacifiers, clothing and other necessities. One of the most special gifts from CAP was a laundry basket lined with a beautiful and very colorful Mountain Baby Blanket , and filled with all of the items we were able to purchase with your donations that had been sent from across the country specifically for the couple’s new baby. Jeremy and his wife also received several other gifts from the friends and family present. The baby is expected to arrive very soon, her due date is April 12th. Mountain Baby Blanket , Many thanks to Rachel Cox who started the Mountain Baby Blanket project. We have received over 200 quilts and receiving blankets to distribute to young mothers and children in our programs. It is truly inspiring to watch as each box filled with beautiful blankets arrives.

Through Child and Family Development Centers ,CAP helps many young mothers and families. Beyond providing basic necessities, we offer a safe, fun and educational environment for many children in need. This is the place where we begin with many of our families, through the children we can discover a host of hidden problems. For example, we may notice a child who wears the same clothes, or one who is always hungry. These are common signs of larger needs in the home. So we ask for a home visit, then we can access how to properly support the family, thus giving the child a better chance for success. To support our children’s programs click here
