CAP wants to highlight Spotlight Acting School in Berea, KY. Families from all over the state drive to this inclusive program. Discover how Spotlight is making a difference in aspiring actors' lives and securing better futures.

Through CAP's Operation Sharing, generous donations from University of Louisville and IKEA are finding their way to flood-impacted families who need them most. 

As last year's floods ravaged Eastern Kentucky, Hindman Settlement School utilized their Roots and Rows program to help 54 families learn how to grow, preserve, and cook their own food.

CAP is excited to spotlight Threadz of Joy, an Indiana-based sewing group, who partners with CAP to help children, their families, and seniors in need in Appalachia.

In 2015 Christian Appalachian Project’s (CAP) President/CEO Guy Adams presented his 30-year vision for the organization. This plan was created to inspire, challenge, and focus the creative energies and labors of CAP toward a shared vision for the future.  

When my son graduated from high school he just couldn’t see himself sitting behind a computer screen any longer. At that point that he decided to take a GAP year which gave him a break and an opportunity to do hands-on service. It also built his confidence and leadership skills. This year he is using his AmeriCorps education award at the university where he is studying towards becoming a high school history teacher.

Serving together with his family at CAP was John Oliva’s dream after being inspired by another family of volunteers years ago. “Very early on in my experience, my daughter, who might have been 6 years old at the time, did not have a great appreciation of what was going on. She just knew that once a year dad disappeared for a week and said he was going to help people in Kentucky,” John said. “Now this is my family’s third time serving at CAP together and it feels like it's come full circle.”
