Your generosity in action
Through CAP’s Operation Sharing program, we partner with over 1,500 local nonprofit organizations, community-based agencies, and churches to distribute food, household supplies, and other necessities. These resources help families in need across Appalachia. Additional emergency items are provided following natural disasters.
Learning begins at birth and never stops. Children learn best where they are engaged and supported by their families. These are the foundational beliefs for CAP’s early childhood development programs that provide parents of children ages 0-5 with on-site and at-home resources.
CAP provides seniors with companionship, increased mobility, and support. Our goal is to help keep participants in their homes and self-sufficient as long as possible. CAP’s focus is to increase socialization for otherwise isolated seniors and strengthen family and community support.
CAP provides services to participants on a year-round basis, offering home repairs to achieve safe, warm, and dry living conditions for families and individuals who could not otherwise afford them. Professional crews, including industry-trained crew leaders work with volunteers, perform home repairs.
Through our Disaster Relief program, dedicated staff and volunteers serve Appalachian communities during their darkest hours. We respond to floods, winter storms, tornadoes, and other natural disasters by providing emergency supplies and cleanup/repair when communities need it most.
All kids need a safe place to learn and grow. Our summer camps and in-school programming provide kids and teens with skills, opportunities, and mentorship to become leaders and thrive in their community. CAP is committed to helping youth reach their full potential.
CAP offers counseling services to families and individuals. Counselors often serve individuals with chronic, multi-layered problems and CAP’s services are structured to meet the specific needs of individuals, couples, children, and families. The counseling staff is committed to the value of our participants.
CAP advocates for children, their families, and seniors who need multi-tiered support and emergency assistance. When the unexpected happens, we provide services to families to help get back on their feet. Staff also support families through Christmas distributions and by providing school supplies.
These aren’t just statistics. These are your neighbors in need in Appalachia.
