Workfest

WorkFest Preparations

Another week of bad weather gave us a shortened week of volunteering for most programs. Monday and Tuesday morning Housing was grounded and luckily Tuesday afternoon we were able to go into our shop and do some cleaning up, because I know I was going stir crazy sitting in the house so much. Despite the shortened week we managed to get a lot of much needed work done. We finished our birdhouses for our WorkFest participants and we also ordered all the materials for our WorkFest jobs, so we will have all the materials in by the time the groups arrive for WorkFest. On Friday a bunch of volunteers also went out to Harold's (our volunteer manager) house to chop up some wood for WorkFest and YouthFest. This was pretty exciting for me because I've never split wood before and I finally got to learn and was also very sore by the end of the day. But it was a lot of fun and then we were rewarded with an awesome brunch prepared by Harold's family.

Today we finally got some awesome weather which is really nice since we've had snow and cold weather for the past two weeks. It's nice to finally see the sun and have 60 degree weather, which I'm sure won't last very long, but I'm enjoying it while it's here.

More pictures from Harold's house below.
