Retreat and more!!!

Well it is the first of November already and honestly I do not know where October went! Last weekend we had our Fall Retreat, which is put on by the Volunteer Program. There are two retreats every year, one in the fall and one in the spring. This Fall Retreat was up at Camp Shawnee, one of CAP's summer camps and it was an awesome weekend for a retreat. The weather was perfect at around 70 degrees every day and sunny with no clouds at all. The theme for this retreat was prayer and incorporating it more often into your life. All in all it was a great weekend, filled with fellowship, free time and group discussions.

Also last week we had our last group for the year until WorkFest starts up in March. The group was from Christ Community Church and a lot of them are friends with my crew leader so it was a good week with lots of laughing and joking and we got in all the windows in our participants' house, as well as some foam board and paper on the house and a whole new set of kitchen cabinets and kitchen sink. Our participants were very happy and excited to get a new kitchen and they were also excited to as how hot it was getting in the house now with all the new windows in. The new windows and insulation on the outside will hopefully help decrease their heating costs this winter.

So since this past weekend was Halloween weekend we had a Halloween party and Bethanie (my housemate) and I have been waiting for this since we've met because we decided what our costume would be back in August. Therefore our costume was top secret and we didn't tell anyone, so when we showed up at the party many people were shocked at how good our costume was. So I'm guessing your wondering what our costume was????? Well we decided to dress up as Tony (our crew leader) and his wife, Liz. So I got elected to be Tony and Bethanie was Liz and our costume was a success. I really wish I had Tony's reaction on camera, it was priceless. I think it was the first time I've ever seen him speechless, and he was also very impressed with the costume. So of course there was a costume contest at this party and I was the lucky one that won, so needless to say I was excited and Bethanie even won the pumpkin carving contest. Needless to say it was  a great weekend and it was pretty fun to see everyone's costume.

Enjoy the photos below from the past two weeks of my life in Kentucky!!!!
