President Guy Adams Honored on National Philanthropy Day
APPALACHIA (November 14, 2025) – Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) is proud to recognize Guy Adams, president/CEO, as this year’s National Philanthropy Day honoree for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to building hope, transforming lives, and sharing Christ’s love through service in Appalachia.
“Guy’s dedication to CAP’s mission is evident in every aspect of his work,” said Phyllis Caudill, CAP’s Vice President of Philanthropy. “He has led the organization since 2010, implementing best practices to maximize every donation and ensure lasting impact for children, families, and seniors living in poverty.”
A fifth-generation Appalachian, Adams brings a personal perspective to CAP’s work, rooted in his family’s deep ties to Eastern Kentucky’s coal-mining region. His vision for CAP has focused on expanding services while maintaining low administrative costs, building on the foundation established in 1964.
During his tenure, Adams has stewarded a healthy and mature Major Gifts program, personally cultivating a portfolio of donors who remain committed and faithful to CAP’s mission. As he approaches retirement, Adams leaves a legacy of generosity.
“Guy’s leadership has transformed CAP’s philanthropy program,” Caudill added. “His tireless work has ensured that the organization can continue meeting the needs of the people we serve in Appalachia.”
Prior to joining CAP, Adams worked for a consulting firm providing fundraising counsel to nonprofit institutions and served as Vice President of Development at Lindsey Wilson College, where he managed the college’s first comprehensive campaign.
National Philanthropy Day celebrates the extraordinary change that fundraising and philanthropy create in our world. As part of this celebration, individuals like Guy Adams are honored for their outstanding charitable work and lasting impact on their communities.
