Long-term volunteers still needed

Even as CAP expects to welcome another record-breaking number of long-term volunteers at our upcoming September orientation, our volunteers needs have expanded greatly in the past several years. As a result, we are still in need of dedicated, faith-driven volunteers to serve in several key positions, including Child and Family Development, Elderly Services and in our warehouse.

A long-term volunteer is someone who commits 9 months or longer to serving in one of several CAP programs helping people in need in Eastern Kentucky. Most volunteers live in intentional community with other short-term and long-term volunteers, sharing in meal preparation and chores, and taking turns leading weekday devotions. Long-term volunteers receive room and board, a monthly stipend, health insurance and a potential AmeriCorps Education Award.

If God has been tugging at your heart to make a long-term commitment to service, now is the time. Explore the site, contact us with questions, then apply to be a CAP volunteer. It's a leap of faith that you won't regret.
