LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 15, 2026) – Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) is delivering emergency relief supplies today to Missouri, one of the communities hardest hit by last week's catastrophic flooding in the Ozarks. 

The historic flooding inundated southeastern Missouri after torrential rainfall triggered devastating flash floods, leaving widespread damage and displacing families across the region. 

"We know firsthand the challenges communities face in the aftermath of catastrophic flooding," said Jennifer Stolo, President & CEO of Christian Appalachian Project. "Our hearts are with the families and communities affected by this disaster. As recovery begins, CAP is committed to standing alongside our neighbors in Missouri by providing critical supplies and hope during this difficult time." 

 CAP's shipment includes generators, flood cleanup buckets, bleach, Lysol wipes, hygiene kits, bottled water, and Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) to support residents as recovery efforts continue. The semi-truck of supplies will be delivered to a Reynolds County, Missouri distribution center operating from a school in Lesterville, one of the communities hardest hit. 

Through Christian Appalachian Project Operation Sharing, the organization’s distribution services, CAP provides assistance throughout the year to communities across all 13 Appalachian states, as well as the Ozark states of Missouri and Arkansas. In addition to ongoing support, CAP mobilizes emergency relief supplies following natural disasters to help communities begin the long road to recovery. 

CAP staff remain in close communication with local partners and the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency and stand ready to provide additional assistance as recovery efforts continue.
