The CAP Jackson County Food Pantry is the fourth pantry in the organization's food pantry network. In 1986, a food bank was started in Jackson County through community efforts and under the direction of Joyce Marks who led the food bank for nearly four decades. Following her passing, CAP began operating the pantry and carrying its mission forward. Through the generous support of donors, CAP built a larger facility that more than triples the space, expanding the pantry's capacity to serve families and respond to the growing need in Jackson County. Feeding America estimates 20.1% of Jackson County residents experienced food insecurity. In 2025, CAP's first year operating the pantry, the pantry served over 6,000 households and provided food support to nearly 15,000 children and adults, distributing more than 250,000 pounds of food.
