CAP Board Member Marc Whitt Recognized Among World’s Top Strategic Communication Leaders

Lexington, KY (May 14, 2026) – Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) celebrates Board Member Marc Whitt on being named to the “Strategic 26”, a global honor recognizing outstanding professionals who are making a meaningful impact on the communications industry.

Whitt, a native of Paintsville, Kentucky, home to CAP’s headquarters, serves as Director of Media & Strategic Relations at the University of Kentucky and has built a distinguished career over the past 40 years in higher education and nonprofit communications.

In addition to his professional work, Whitt serves on CAP’s Board of Directors, where his connection to Eastern Kentucky continues to guide his contributions.

“Marc brings both heart and experience to everything he does,” said Jennifer Stolo, President & CEO of Christian Appalachian Project. “His roots in Eastern Kentucky and his commitment to thoughtful communication make him an invaluable member of our board and a committed advocate for the families we serve.”

Whitt is also a nationally recognized author, with multiple bestselling books focused on public relations leadership and professional growth. Reflecting on the honor, Whitt shared his gratitude for the mentors and colleagues who have shaped his journey and his continued commitment to service and leadership.

“This feels, in many ways, like a capstone moment in a 42-year journey that continues to grow,” Whitt added. “I’m deeply grateful to God for His guidance and blessings, and to my family, my colleagues, and this profession for the opportunities to learn, lead, and serve.”
