Can I get a WorkFest?
As someone who first came to CAP through WorkFest, I am in love with this time of year. Not only do we get to accomplish an incredible amount of good in a short time, we are re-energized by the wonderful students we get to meet each year.
Yesterday we kicked things off with our first week of WorkFest at Camp AJ. Because not many colleges have their spring break this early, we have just five schools this week, but I can already tell they are a great group. The schools this week are Marywood University from Scranton, St. Xavier from Chicago, Bellarmine from Louisville, Western Michigan University, and Valparaiso University from Indiana. You can see their pictures below.
We always start the week off with an orientation. My major role is to get the group excited by asking the all important question, "Can I get a WorkFest?" The correct answer of course is a rousing "WorkFest!" I am happy to report this group is throughly excited already.
As I write this the groups are at work on their first day on the jobsites. This week begins jobs for the Blue, Orange, Green, Purple, and Black Crews. Click on the respective links to see "before" pictures of all these jobs. We will post more pictures as the jobs progress.
I did not get many pictures last night, but I will try to be better as we go along. Thank you so much for all your prayers, and please remember our participant families in a special way. Having ten college students at your house all of a sudden can be overwhelming!
