Supporters of Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) now have the option to give to help their neighbors in need in Appalachia through Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments. ACH payments are an efficient way to give on a recurring basis directly from a bank account without using paper checks, credit cards, wire transfers, or cash.

“We are excited to provide this secure and easy giving experience to our supporters,” said Jacob Roberts, CAP’s Digital Strategist. “This streamlined payment method will mean the generous gifts we receive will be put to work in our programs more quickly and efficiently to serve children, their families, and seniors in Appalachia.” 

Through ACH payments, CAP will also pay fewer fees to accept and process payments, allowing more funds to be used in various programming to address nine human services needs. Those are food insecurity, clothing, home repair, family advocacy, early childhood education, youth, counseling, disaster relief, and elderly. 

In recent years, people in Appalachia have faced unforeseen obstacles that have compounded the challenges of poverty in the region. A global pandemic, historic inflation, and back-to-back natural disasters have elevated the need for basic necessities. Through it all, CAP has seen an outpouring of support from across the country in an effort to ease the stressors people have faced.

“CAP’s mission of building hope, transforming lives, and sharing Christ’s love through service in Appalachia is not possible without our supporters,” Roberts said. “We are grateful for the generosity and compassion we see from people wanting to make a difference in our region. CAP works diligently to continue offering various efficient opportunities to support our programs and provide tangible solutions to children, their families, and seniors in need.”
