A New Playground

Deciding to move the Child and Family Development Center in Mount Vernon to a better location was an easy choice, but moving the playground along with it was going to be a big challenge.

On February 15, we received a call from Glenn Jennings, President and CEO of Delta Natural Gas. They were aware of the upcoming need of the Child and Family Development Center and decided to make a $10,000 donation in the honor of their founder, Mr. Harrison D. Peet. Mr. Peet had been a donor and served on the board at CAP for many years.

The Child and Family Development Center in Mount Vernon will make the move later this year. Now, there will be a playground in honor of Mr. Peet and Delta Natural Gas waiting for the children when they arrive.

CAP’s Child and Family Development Centers are dedicated to offering programs that are tailored to meet the needs of families in their community. They offer preschool, in-home visits and after school programs to help children reach their full potential as they grow.
