2017 Mission Group Season

By Betsie Carroll

Here at Christian Appalachian Project (CAP), we are looking forward to the 2017 Mission Group Season, which begins in May and continues through October. Mission Groups serve for one week in our Home Repair Programs and assist CAP in our goal of reducing substandard housing across our service area.

The Mission Group calendar is already beginning to fill. In fact, there are 31 groups on the calendar for this year! How wonderful to have so many people interested in serving the Christ by serving others! There are several weeks throughout the summer that have space for groups of three to 30 people who are 14 years old and older. We look forward to hosting groups from churches, schools, families, companies, friends, and volunteer alumni.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to those who have been part of mobilizing Mission Groups in the past. And we encourage everyone to continue telling others about CAP’s mission of building hope, transforming lives, and sharing Christ’s love through service in Appalachia.

Will you utilize your church, social media, friends, and work place as ways to talk about what CAP means to you? And then let us know how you shared with others! We really appreciate your support of CAP’s mission over the years.

So, are you ready to register your Mission Group for 2017? Fees have been lowered to $325 per person. The fee includes lodging, food and work site supplies, and trained supervision. For more information or to sign up, contact Betsie at 606.256.0973 ext. 2407 or groups@chrisapp.org.
