Independent Living

 

Living in a community setting may not be for everyone. To be as accommodating as possible, CAP provides an independent living alternative. Available to volunteers who are married, are 50 years of age and older, or who prefer to live on their own, this option includes a modest food and living stipend and health insurance. Please contact the volunteer program office for more information.

Larry and Martha Cowles

The Cowles arrived in September 2006 when they ventured out from their Massachusetts home to visit CAP. They were retiring, selling their house and getting rid of many of their accumulated be-longings, but they still couldn’t fathom living in one room in a volunteer house. >>Read More

A few years back, Carolyn Crozier received a letter in the mail from CAP asking for monetary donations to help Appalachians in need. In her desire to help people, she decided to send $10 month.
