Accreditation

 

The Disaster Relief program is recognized, trained by, or is a member of the following organizations:

  • Instrumental in the formation of and members of the Eastern Kentucky Long Term Recovery Coordinating Committee (EKLTRCC). EKLTRCC has helped more than 600 families return to their “pre-disaster conditions.”
  • Member of the KyVOAD (Kentucky Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters)
  • Part of the K.O.I.N. (Kentucky Outreach Information Network)
  • Active with NCORP (National Community on Readiness and Preparedness)
  • Our Disaster Relief Program is also NIMS compliant (National Incident Management Systems)
  • Received commission of Kentucky Colonels from Governor Ernie Fletcher for the relief work provided to hurricane Katrina survivors
  • Participate in local and regional disaster exercises and planning of LERPs (Local Emergency Response Planning)
  • Trained in mass care sheltering
  • Trained forklift operators
  • Disaster Relief Program Director, Sherry Buresh
    • Member of the Kentucky Community Crisis Response Board (appointed and commissioned by Governor Ernie Fletcher)
    • KCCRT member (Kentucky Community Crisis Response Team)
    • On the Pro-Boards National Register for National Certification for Hazardous Materials Operations Level and WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction)/Terrorism Incident Defensive Operations Level.
