Since the early beginnings of CAP, volunteers have played a vital role in providing support, assistance and love to those in need in Appalachia. When Reverend Ralph Beiting, the founder of CAP, first came to Kentucky he found a place of great beauty and character, but also a place where there was great suffering. He sent out a call to friends and family to help him provide food, shelter, clothing and support to the people who were coming to him daily to ask for help. And thus, the Christian Appalachian Project was born…out of the willingness of people to answer the call to serve their neighbors in Appalachia. Today, CAP relies on the generous service of long-term, short-term, group and summer camp volunteers. For more information about volunteering at CAP, please call our office at 1-800-755-5322!

Mission Fish Online Auction
Mission Fish is an online auction set up through eBay – where items are auctioned off for the good – all proceeds go towards CAP’s mission of helping the needy.
Charitable Gift Annuity
This is possible when you fund a CAP charitable gift annuity. A charitable gift annuity is an agreement between you and CAP. In exchange for cash or other assets (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.) of $2,500 or more, CAP guarantees to make fixed payments for the rest of your life. Following your life, the assets remaining are used to fund the work of CAP.
Memorials and Honoraria
In Memory and In Honor donations offer a meaningful way to support the Christian Appalachian Project and, at the same time, extend condolences, congratulations or other greetings to family and friends. Upon receipt of your gift, we will send an acknowledgment to you and to the family/friends you designate. The amount will not be disclosed. In addition, you will have your donation mentioned in the Highlights newsletter and on our web page. Honor and Memorial donations can be made by calling us toll free at 1-866-270-4227 (4CAP) with your information.
Few things in life equal the reward of offering a gift that will benefit so many people. An endowment gift to CAP will do just that. Each dollar is invested and the proceeds will provide comprehensive programs and services to those in need in Appalachia, for years to come. Recognition on the Endowment Tree is one small way to show our appreciation and make sure your gift is remembered.
Angels of Appalachia
The Angels of Appalachia are a special group of donors who have committed themselves to an ongoing partnership with CAP. Their regular, monthly gifts provide families in our country’s poorest region with the means to improve the quality of their lives – programs that build self-esteem, provide education, better living conditions and basic health care.
