Hands-On Change. For Good.

Volunteer Spearheads New CAP Project

grateful bread
December 2007 marked the opening of CAP's newest endeavor, The Grateful Bread Food Pantry. In partnership with God's Pantry Food Bank in Lexington, Kentucky, we can reach out to more rural areas in the state, and Sr. Margot Eder was the backbone of the project.

The Grateful Bread serves all Rockcastle County residents who meet federal income guidelines. Eligible participants are allowed to visit
the pantry once a month for supplies. Coming soon will be the Spring Catalog, which will have details on how you can "feed a family" through The Grateful Bread.

In her second year of long-term volunteering for CAP, Sr. Margot worked very hard to make The Grateful Bread a reality and was involved from start to finish. There was an open house to celebrate the opening of the pantry, and Sr. Margot had the honor of leading the facility tours. A heartfelt thank you from everyone at CAP to Sr. Margot for her efforts!

CAP also has plans to open a thrift store adjacent to The Grateful Bread. It will be called - appropriately so - The Grateful Thread!
