Hands-On Change. For Good.

Ichthus 2007

Ichthus 2007 was a great success and a lot of fun! As a Corporate Partner, CAP had a strong presence at the festival. It was a lot of hard work, but everyone had a fun too!

In addition to the Game Zone, we sponsored the very popular Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution contests. At the sponsor tent, free T-Shirts, books, informational DVDs, backpacks, brochures and other items were available with employees and volunteers available to answer any questions. There was a great response to requests for more information about our programs and services, and we will be contacting everyone interested very soon.

CAP president, Bill Mills, gave various presentations over the course of the festival and was given the opportunity to talk about CAP to a crowd of approximately 25,000, challenging them to act on their faith and make a difference by volunteering with CAP, “This is your chance to take a stand against poverty and be a true hero to someone who needs one. You can change a life.”

As an added surprise, Megan Goble, a CAP summer camp employee from Prestonburg, KY, was the winner of the “I’m the One” contest, sponsored by Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky. It was the singing contest for Ichthus, and Megan was chosen out of more than 700 contestants to sing on the main stage Saturday night! As she sang “Amazing Grace,” it was evident why she was the winner. Click here to see the video of her big moment.

“This was a great experience and we can’t wait to do it again next year!” said Sherry Buresh, who is CAP’s Disaster Relief program director and coordinated CAP’s involvement with Ichthus.

“We could not have done a lot of what we did this year without Christian Appalachian Project,” said Ichthus Ministries, Inc. executive director, Jeff James. “We are looking forward to a great relationship.”
