CAP sends essential supplies and volunteers to aid in Ohio flood relief
Partnering with the Lutheran Disaster Relief and Ohio Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster programs, Sherry Buresh, director of CAP’s Disaster Relief program, coordinated 32 volunteers to assist with relief efforts in the Bucyrus, Carey, Crestline and Upper Sandusky communities from August 24 – September 8.

Summer Camp Volunteers Needed!
Christian Appalachian Project's summer camps are being held May 29- July 27 in eastern Kentucky. We are looking for volunteers to serve as camp counselors, medical personnel, lifeguards and arts and crafts instructors. Learn more about our summer camps or request an application packet today!

Ichthus 2007 Coverage
Ichthus 2007 was a great success and a lot of fun! As a Corporate Partner, CAP had a strong presence at the festival. It was a lot of hard work, but everyone had a fun too! CAP president, Bill Mills, gave various presentations over the course of the festival and was given the opportunity to talk about CAP to a crowd of approximately 25,000, challenging them to act on their faith and make a difference by volunteering with CAP, “This is your chance to take a stand against poverty and be a true hero to someone who needs one. You can change a life.”

Operation Relief Responds to Florida Tornado Devastation
A team of more than 20 CAP-Operation Relief volunteers and staff are on the way to aid the victims suffering from the devastating tornadoes that recently ravaged several areas of central Florida.
 

CAP Recognized at the Kentucky General Assembly
State Representative, Rocky Adkins, recognized CAP during the February 22nd legislative session at the Capitol in Frankfort.
 

The Healing Power of Happiness
Despite her health, Vineta is one of the happiest people in her eastern Kentucky town. When she opens her front door to greet her visitors, they get nothing less than a warm smile and a heartfelt “hello.”
 
Songs and Faith Soothe the Soul
Barbara and Harold have been married since 1995. They live in a trailer in rural eastern Kentucky. Having grown up there, the trailer is the only home Harold has ever known, and was in desperate need of repair.
 
Changing the Life of a Child
Savanna was a typical four year old, laughing, playing in the kitchen with pretend food, and drawing amazing pictures of her family. The alarming difference between her and the other children was her lack of communication - she did not say a single word in three and a half months.
