“I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” - Psalm 121, NIV
Whenever economic hard times fall on America, they always fall hardest on those who have the least. This recession has been no different, and in the “hollers” of Appalachia, home to some of the poorest folks in our country, so many are suffering more now than ever before.
Your kindhearted gift will help people like Jessie, a poverty-stricken elderly man who lives in the remains of a camping trailer in a clearing in the woods, yet still reaches out to others with kindness and love.
And it is so important that we are able to lend a helping hand to families like Brenda and Denny Miller—these folks have been devastated by debilitating medical problems, a car accident that left them without transportation and a severe wind and ice storm that destroyed the roof of their mobile home.
Through your generous gift, you can help repair homes and provide food for seniors and families with children. You’ll also help provide seniors with the essential care they need.
And most importantly, you’ll help provide hope to people who desperately need it.
Brenda and Denny and their family are strong, hardworking people, just like Jessie, and all those who live through the daily hardships of life in Appalachia. They rarely ask for help―even when they need it most―but they are so very grateful when people like you offer it.
Please pray for our work. Pray for the Millers and Jessie. And please send the most generous gift you can today to help all the families who need us. God bless you and your family.
