CAP and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security have teamed up to strengthen the relationship between CAP’s Disaster Relief program and other disaster response programs throughout the state.
“We see some tremendous opportunities for both the government office and for CAP,” said Sherry Buresh, director of CAP’s Disaster Relief program. “We are excited about the efforts that are underway.”
In an attempt to share resources and get out the message of being prepared for a disaster, arrangements are underway to distribute more than 25,000 Kentucky Homeland Security brochures to agencies participating in CAP’s Operation Sharing program.
Additionally, CAP would create disaster kits using Operation Sharing resources and volunteers. These kits would be distributed to participants, and possibly throughout the state.
