Position: Facility Maintenance Technician III
Program: Facility Maintenance

Work Hours and Location: Monday-Friday; 8 am-4:30 pm; Paintsville, KY 

Position Summary: Responsible for development and completion of assigned facility maintenance projects. Provides a leadership role in all areas of job duties.  Performs a wide variety of tasks including skilled plumbing, electronics, H.V.A.C., carpentry and other preventative maintenance; troubleshoots and repairs equipment; installs new equipment; provides 24-hour on-call services to after hours emergencies at all regional CAP facilities; and assists with assignment of work orders to other Facility Maintenance personnel..

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED plus specialized training certification/license in related field of H.V.A.C. or electricity, and EPA universal certification in refrigerant handling and recovery. Requires one or more of the following, Master Electrician, Journeyman Plumbers or Journeyman HVAC licenses..

Experience Requirements: 7 or more years of successful experience in related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position: Philanthropy Director III (Major Gifts)

Position Summary: Fosters the total advancement of CAP; directs and provides leadership to the Major Gifts program and staff.Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) seeks a dynamic and result-oriented individual as Director of Philanthropy to lead the Major Gifts team to help accomplish bold goals for the leading human services organization helping people in need in Appalachia. CAP, the 33rd largest human services organization and the 336th largest charity in America, is headquartered in Paintsville, KY, in Johnson County. This position is located in Lexington, KY.

The Director of Philanthropy for Major Gifts reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy, serves as a member of the Philanthropy leadership team, directs and leads the Major Gifts team, working closely with other members of the Philanthropy Division, including Direct Response, Communications, and Customer Service, to ensure CAP has resources sufficient to carry out its mission and achieve its vision. She/he will have seven or more years of progressive fundraising experience, including major gift work in cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding major gifts ($5,000 and above). Experience with a faith-based and/or human service organization is preferred. Desirable assets include: personal integrity, a desire to fully support CAP’s mission and core values (lives Christian principles, has a servant’s heart, and is compassionate). A demonstrated knowledge of key development areas, especially major and planned gifts, competent oral and written communication skills, and working collaboratively with others is expected. Regional and national travel, some evenings and weekends, and occasional special events are expected. A bachelor’s degree is required.

The Director of Philanthropy position responsibilities include:

  • Working with Philanthropy Division leaders and team members to create a three-year plan and to implement an annual plan for the Major Gifts Program to achieve the charitable giving objectives and strategic plan goals of the organization
  • Working with Philanthropy Division leaders and team members to grow an ongoing major and planned giving program, and personally securing major gifts from a portfolio of current and probable donors (up to 100)
  • Authentically reflecting and portraying the mission of Christian Appalachian Project

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in related field.

Experience Requirements: 7 or more years of successful experience in related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
